[0:00] hello guys this is team solo from HS and [0:03] today I want to show you how to find the [0:06] best content of your competitors why do [0:09] you need their best content well because [0:11] you'll have to create something better [0:13] and outperform them you're watching [0:16] episode number [0:19] 11 oh sorry sorry concentrate [0:24] concentrate you're watching episode [0:26] number [0:28] 11 that's better of the [0:31] oversimplified [0:44] SEO so what is best content what exactly [0:48] are we going to look for today well [0:51] there are three kinds actually uh first [0:54] it's the content that generated tons of [0:56] traction on social media second the [1:00] content that attracted tons of backlinks [1:03] and third the content that gets tons of [1:06] SEO traffic to your competition let's [1:10] see how to find all three kinds of [1:12] content that helps your [1:15] competitors okay let's start from the [1:17] kind of content that generated tons of [1:20] traction on social media and the kind of [1:23] content that attracted uh a lot of links [1:26] so what you see on my screen is H Chef's [1:28] content Explorer you can find it right [1:31] in the uh top menu of HS and once you [1:35] put any website or domain name there it [1:39] will search for the most popular content [1:43] uh that recites on this domain let's try [1:45] it with uh blog. hrs.com and I click [1:51] search this is the list of the most [1:53] popular content on H shev's blog and as [1:56] you can see the top performing article [1:59] is this one best Ling building [2:01] strategies that don't require content it [2:04] seems that this topic resonated so much [2:06] with our audience that they shared it [2:08] like [2:09] crazy but as you can see from the uh [2:13] Twitter shares column uh this article is [2:16] not the one that generated the biggest [2:19] number of tweets and actually I can [2:21] click the Twitter column which will sort [2:26] the articles by the amount of tweets [2:28] they got and you can do this with any [2:30] social network for example let's click [2:32] on Google+ and see which article was [2:36] best performing on [2:37] go+ well it's still uh bestlink building [2:40] strategies that don't require [2:42] content so this is how you find the most [2:45] shared articles on any of the social [2:48] networks but what about the articles [2:50] that generated the most backlinks well [2:53] we have a column for that too and it's [2:56] the first one after date uh if you click [2:59] click it you'll sort the list by the [3:03] amount of referring [3:05] domains and as you can see now we have [3:08] totally different articles uh at the top [3:11] of the list which means that you should [3:13] create different types of content for [3:16] getting traction on social media and for [3:20] baiting tons of backlinks so as you can [3:23] see with content Explorer tool by HS you [3:27] can find both the content that generated [3:29] tons of social shares for your [3:32] competition and the content that [3:34] attracted tons of backlinks for them now [3:38] let's talk about the content that brings [3:40] them traffic from Google and as usual we [3:43] have a tool for that too it's called [3:46] positions Explorer and it's also located [3:49] main menu of [3:50] HS so let's use this tool to see uh [3:54] which content brings SEO traffic to [3:58] Brian Dean from uh [4:00] backlink [4:01] co.com quite famous blog about SEO and [4:05] Link building and I click search what [4:09] I'm interested in is the top pages [4:12] report that's located under organic [4:14] research menu let's click it and what we [4:18] get here is the list of uh pages on [4:22] Brian Dean's blog that bring him the [4:26] most traffic from Google uh we have a [4:28] column called traffic here uh but please [4:31] uh keep in mind that this traffic is [4:33] just an estimation uh it's not the exact [4:36] traffic that uh each of these articles [4:39] gets this report is a great place to [4:42] look for some content ideas for your own [4:44] site uh for example let's look at this [4:47] article how to rank YouTube videos uh I [4:50] think it's pretty cool topic and if we [4:53] click the expand button in the keywords [4:57] column we'll see quite a few keywords [5:01] that this article is ranking for as you [5:03] can see it's ranking uh number one for [5:06] YouTube SEO it's ranking number one for [5:09] video ranking YouTube video ranking how [5:11] does YouTube rank videos etc etc [5:14] etc so if it is in your interest to have [5:18] your website ranking for the exact same [5:21] keywords what you can do is check this [5:24] article by Brian Dean and try to write [5:28] something that would be bigger and [5:30] better than his piece which is quite a [5:33] challenge if you ask me because Brian's [5:35] content is always [5:37] top-notch that's it I encourage you to [5:40] play uh with the top pages report of [5:44] position Explorer and explore the [5:47] content that brings traffic from Google [5:50] to your competition I'm sure this will [5:52] give you a lot of ideas on how to [5:55] structure your own content marketing [5:58] strategy [6:09] that's it I hope you enjoyed this [6:11] episode of oversimplified SEO and I hope [6:14] it makes you want to subscribe to hre's [6:17]
