[0:00] hello guys this is tim sala from a traps
[0:03] and in today's episode I'm going to show
[0:06] you how to find the influencers who are
[0:10] talking about your business or about
[0:12] your product or about the services that
[0:15] you're offering you're watching episode
[0:18] number 15 of the oversimplified SEO okay
[0:33] and as usual I have a great case study
[0:35] to illustrate you why this is so
[0:38] important to keep an eye on influencers
[0:41] or bloggers or journalists who are
[0:44] talking about what you do about your
[0:47] niche about your business and services
[0:50] so this is a recent article by brian
[0:54] dean from backlink calm this is a
[0:57] complete list of SEO tools that he
[1:00] reviewed 153 different SEO tools but the
[1:04] most interesting part is what happened
[1:07] almost the next day when this article
[1:10] got submitted to embody inbound org if
[1:14] you scroll down the comments you'll see
[1:17] that people started offering Brian some
[1:21] tools that he didn't include in his
[1:24] article the day it was published so for
[1:28] example this comment by Linda Booker
[1:31] says that another tool for generated
[1:35] keyword and post ideas is faq Fox so
[1:39] basically Linda is offering Brian a cool
[1:43] tool that wasn't included in his article
[1:46] initially and as you can see Brian
[1:49] responding thanks Linda I appreciate the
[1:52] heads-up about faq folks going to try it
[1:56] and a bunch of other tools today and
[2:00] i'll add them to the list sometime next
[2:03] week now i want you to stop and think
[2:07] for a moment about what happened here so
[2:10] Brian published a list of two
[2:13] that he personally reviewed and
[2:16] immediately some people started offering
[2:20] him great tools that didn't make it to
[2:24] his initial article and actually if you
[2:27] go down below there is another comment
[2:32] by Brian since they published the post
[2:35] yesterday a lot of people from the back
[2:38] linker and inbound community have
[2:41] suggested SEO tools and now I want you
[2:43] to look at this the submission and
[2:46] inbound says the complete list 131 tools
[2:51] reviewed but then if you open the actual
[2:55] article you can see that the number is
[2:58] bigger it says 153 which means that
[3:02] after this article was published on
[3:06] Brian's blog he did updated with all the
[3:09] all the suggestions that people gave him
[3:13] and edit 20 more different tools to his
[3:18] article what I'm trying to say here is
[3:20] that timing plays a super huge role here
[3:25] so imagine this he already updated his
[3:29] article with 20 more tools and I'm sure
[3:32] that within a month or two months or
[3:35] three or even within a year people will
[3:39] still be approaching him sending him
[3:42] emails and telling him that there's some
[3:44] SEO tool which wasn't included in this
[3:47] roundup and they will ask him to update
[3:50] his article and add their tool do you
[3:53] think Brian will do this for everyone
[3:55] who will reach out to him of course not
[3:58] he will probably take note somewhere
[4:00] that yeah there's another tool that has
[4:02] to be reviewed and dated and probably
[4:05] some time in the future he is going to
[4:07] update his article but for sure he won't
[4:10] do this immediately he won't do this
[4:13] with the same speed that he updated his
[4:16] article within a week from the day that
[4:18] was published timing is extremely
[4:21] important in online marketing if you are
[4:24] able to approach the blogger
[4:27] almost the same day when his article was
[4:29] published and ask him to expand on
[4:32] something or add something relevant to
[4:35] you your tool your service or whatever
[4:38] it is the chances that he will update
[4:40] his article are very big but if you wait
[4:45] for a month or more and then approached
[4:48] him the odds are that he is not going to
[4:51] do this because he probably no longer
[4:54] interested in this topic anymore and he
[4:57] probably moved to something else and
[4:59] busy doing different things ok so how do
[5:02] you actually keep an eye on such stuff
[5:05] for example since I'm doing marketing
[5:07] for each revs tools I am interested in
[5:10] all articles that talk about SEO tools
[5:13] so i want to create an alert that will
[5:17] email me every time someone will publish
[5:21] an article about SEO tools so i'm sure
[5:24] most of you are familiar with AD tool
[5:27] called Google Alerts this is a free tool
[5:33] where you can create alerts on any
[5:37] anything that is interesting to you for
[5:39] example I have alerts on Team solo which
[5:42] is my like pen name aight refs blogger
[5:44] jet which is my blog tweet this which is
[5:47] my plugin for wordpress and content
[5:51] upgrades which is the topic that was
[5:53] interesting for me at some point but to
[5:56] be honest I wasn't really ever satisfied
[5:59] with the quality of Google Alerts that's
[6:05] why I'm super glad that we have created
[6:07] an alternative tool within eight chefs
[6:11] toolset let me show you this tool so
[6:14] let's go to a trade calm and then I go
[6:18] to this is my dashboard I go to content
[6:21] alerts tab and you see all the alerts I
[6:25] have here this tool is actually pretty
[6:29] straightforward and they don't think I
[6:31] should explain you how it works because
[6:33] there
[6:35] big red ADD alert button here which is
[6:39] pretty self-explanatory and some things
[6:41] that you might want to track is
[6:45] dimensions of your brand for example I
[6:48] obviously have an alert for a travs
[6:51] brand name for blogger jet my personal
[6:54] blog for my name Tim solo and of course
[6:58] for keywords like SEO tools backlink
[7:01] checker backlink research check
[7:03] backlinks and some other stuff so
[7:07] whenever I see someone publishing an
[7:09] article about SEO tools and I see that
[7:13] this person could have mentioned a travs
[7:16] but didn't I may reach out to him and
[7:19] drop him a real quick email asking him
[7:22] if he is familiar with a traps and if
[7:24] not maybe he is interested to try our
[7:27] tools and maybe mention them in this
[7:30] article that he just published on his
[7:33] blog but again I'm going to repeat
[7:35] myself it's all about timing that is why
[7:37] you can see that all my updates all my
[7:41] alerts are set to daily so that I would
[7:45] immediately get a notification of a new
[7:47] article published with the keywords that
[7:51] I'm interested in and now to prove you
[7:53] that I practice what I preach I'm going
[7:55] to show you a real life example of how i
[7:59] am using these content alerts so as you
[8:02] can see i have an alert for eight refs
[8:05] and quite recently there was an email
[8:08] sent to me with new articles mentioning
[8:11] our tool set and one of the articles
[8:15] attracted my intention a definitive list
[8:17] of 50 best SEO tools by jacobs tubes com
[8:23] so i immediately searched for h revs and
[8:27] this is what I I saw there in my
[8:30] experience eight reps is relatively
[8:33] similar to majestic though maybe not as
[8:35] rich with features when choosing between
[8:39] the two it's likely to come down to
[8:41] personal preference well only two
[8:45] sentences about our tool set
[8:48] while other tool sets are getting a few
[8:51] paragraphs obviously I couldn't leave it
[8:54] like that and they immediately reach out
[8:57] to Jacob because from his description of
[9:01] eight chefs tools I immediately realized
[9:04] that he didn't have a chance to use them
[9:08] for at least a year and as you can see
[9:11] we then had quite a conversation where I
[9:14] gave Jacob every eight chefs account and
[9:17] he promised me to get himself familiar
[9:20] with our tool set and update his article
[9:23] with a more in-depth look at our tool
[9:26] set so yeah as you can see content
[9:28] alerts is a very powerful marketing tool
[9:30] which helps you to connect with
[9:33] different influential people with
[9:35] bloggers with journalists and with
[9:37] anyone who is publishing some content
[9:40] online so if you're a proud owner of the
[9:43] HX account go to your content alerts tab
[9:47] within the dashboard and set up a few
[9:50] alerts that would be relevant to what
[9:52] you do and if not just use the Google
[9:56] Alerts tool which will give you also
[10:00] some nice content where you can reach
[10:03] out to the authors and establish some
[10:06] kind of relationship with them
[10:17] this is it I hope you enjoyed this
[10:20] episode and they hope you now understand
[10:23] the importance of reacting immediately
[10:26] whenever you find something relevant
[10:30] published across the web where your tool
[10:33] or your service or your business can be
[10:37] mentioned so if you enjoyed this video
[10:39] please subscribe to a través youtube
[10:43] channel and i see you in the next
[10:45] episode bye
[10:55] you
