[0:00] hello guys this is team solo from HRS [0:03] and today's episode will be super quick [0:06] uh because I'm going to show you how to [0:09] uncover your competitor uh paperclick [0:14] ads you're watching episode number 14 of [0:18] the [0:19] oversimplified SEO [0:31] the tool that you see on my screen right [0:33] now is called uh H's position Explorer [0:37] and I'm sure many of you are already [0:40] familiar with it uh because in the [0:43] latest episode of oversimplified SEO I [0:46] showed you how to use uh H sh position [0:49] Explorer to find the keywords that your [0:53] competitors are ranking for in Google [0:56] and in today's episode I'm going to use [0:59] pretty much uh the same tool positions [1:01] Explorer uh to show you how to find the [1:05] paperclick ads that your competitors are [1:08] paying for of course I'm talking about [1:10] the payperclick ads uh within the Google [1:13] search results okay so there's a popular [1:16] social media tool called buffer.com and [1:21] I'm going to put their domain name right [1:23] into the search field of position [1:25] Explorer to see if they do any paid [1:28] advertising within Google search results [1:32] so I put their domain name here and [1:34] click the search button so as you can [1:36] see at the top of this report there's a [1:39] section called paid keywords and it [1:41] shows that the guys from buffer.com are [1:45] paying for ads uh on 47 keywords within [1:50] us and for three keywords within UK and [1:55] now I want to go a little bit deeper and [1:57] check the exact keywords that they are [2:00] paying for as well as how their ads look [2:03] like so let's look at the section within [2:05] the menu that is called PPC research uh [2:08] we have three reports here one is called [2:11] paid keywords ads and top pages I'm [2:14] going to start with a paid keywords [2:17] report I will give you just a quick [2:19] overview of this report as you can see [2:22] the First Column uh has all the keywords [2:25] that guys from buffer.com are paying for [2:29] Google then you see the position this is [2:33] of course the position of their ad [2:36] within the ad blog not within the [2:39] organic search results then a little [2:42] icon uh refers to the actual ad and once [2:45] you hover your csor over it you will see [2:48] the ad uh and then all the other stuff [2:51] like the URL where they are linking to [2:54] uh the number of results and blah blah [2:56] blah and at the top you have a few hand [3:00] filters that you can use to quickly [3:02] group all these data for example if I [3:04] wanted to see all the keywords that [3:08] consists of two words only uh I click [3:11] here on this filter and it updates the [3:15] report so in case you decide to run some [3:19] PPC ads within Google the first thing [3:22] that I recommend you to do would be to [3:25] check some of your competitor sites in [3:28] position Explorer and see what keywords [3:32] they are paying for because these [3:34] keywords are probably bringing them some [3:37] paying [3:38] customers next thing that you might want [3:40] to check is how their ads look like and [3:44] you have a separate report for that that [3:47] is called ads so this is basically the [3:50] listing of a couple ads well not [3:54] actually a couple 22 different ads with [3:57] different ad copy that guys from [4:00] buffer.com are using to land people on [4:04] their site and as you can see different [4:07] ads are lending people to different [4:10] pages this report can give you some [4:13] great insights uh to their marketing [4:16] strategies for example if you look at [4:18] this particular ad uh it's called social [4:21] media strategies and when you click the [4:25] uh URL of the landing page where this ad [4:28] lands customers you'll see that it's [4:31] basically uh an opin form that invites [4:34] you to leave your email in exchange for [4:38] 25 social media strategies so if I had [4:42] to compete with guys from buffer I would [4:45] definitely do some email course of my [4:49] own and also promote it uh across all [4:53] these keywords uh to compete with them [4:56] and the last report that I'm going to [4:58] cover in this tutorial which is related [5:01] to paperclick ads is the top pages [5:05] report it's also a great report because [5:08] right here you can instantly see that [5:11] guys from buffer are actually only [5:14] advertising two pages on their site one [5:17] page being the homepage uh and they [5:20] invest in 12 different keywords to [5:24] Target their homepage and the other is [5:28] this email course page that I already [5:30] showed you and as you can see they uh [5:34] invest in 35 uh different keywords to [5:38] bring people to their email course which [5:41] makes me think that uh this lead [5:44] generation strategy seems to be working [5:46] quite well for them and I would [5:48] definitely do something similar to fight [5:52] for the attention of the customers [6:05] and that's it in previous episode of [6:08] oversimplified SEO which can be found uh [6:12] here actually uh I showed how to use uh [6:16] position Explorer tool to spy on the [6:19] keywords that your competitors are [6:21] ranking for and today I showed you how [6:24] to use the same Tool uh to spy on their [6:27] PPC ads and and on the keywords that [6:31] they use uh to advertise in Google so [6:35] again this is a great tool and I [6:38] strongly encourage you to play with it [6:40] for a while and see what your [6:42] competitors are doing that's it for [6:45] today's episode hope to see you around [6:48] next week bye
