[0:00] what if you could find your dream
[0:01] partner without Ever Lifting a finger
[0:03] meet me to select a service that does
[0:05] all the swiping messaging and even
[0:07] flirting for you would you say that you
[0:09] can get anyone a date yeah today we'll
[0:11] find out exactly how they're stealing
[0:13] customers from Tinder using Google if
[0:15] you lost all of your Google traffic
[0:17] tomorrow what would happen to your
[0:19] business it would fail how veto select
[0:22] was built from scratch we have been a
[0:25] seven fig business for over a decade in
[0:28] the hidden opportunity that could see
[0:29] them dominate their Niche and pull in
[0:31] more customers organically without
[0:33] spending a single dive they're ranking
[0:35] with one link this is definitely
[0:37] something you guys should be
[0:39] on you want to just introduce yourself
[0:42] and what you do I'm Scot valz I started
[0:45] VA select back in 2009 when I came
[0:48] across your your business I didn't
[0:50] really know what to think can you kind
[0:52] of explain what your business is all
[0:54] about at VA select we manage the entire
[0:56] process of modern dating for our clients
[1:00] except for actually going on the dates
[1:02] themselves so we start with about a
[1:03] 90-minute call where the Matchmaker gets
[1:05] to know all about the client and what
[1:06] they're looking for in a partner we will
[1:09] set up profiles on the optimal dating
[1:12] platforms for them and literally manage
[1:15] everything so that all they have to do
[1:17] is just show up to the date how do you
[1:20] come up with an idea like this so back
[1:23] in 2008 I was trying like different
[1:25] approaches to dating right so I had used
[1:28] the dating apps I even tried some
[1:30] highend matchmaking services and the
[1:32] dating apps were really frustrating I
[1:33] sent at one point 47 messages and I
[1:37] literally didn't get a response and so I
[1:41] realized that I had to try something
[1:43] different after testing different
[1:44] responses and dialing in his approach
[1:47] Scott was able to develop a dating
[1:48] formula for Success over the course of 6
[1:50] months soon Scott was overloaded with
[1:53] dates and the idea for VA select was
[1:55] born with average users wasting over 2
[1:58] hours a day on dating apps Scott
[2:00] realized the Gap his service could fill
[2:01] in the market he quickly hired a
[2:03] copywriter to put his proven system in
[2:05] place and started sending messages on
[2:07] behalf of clients in 2009 when I
[2:10] launched the business I was I was very
[2:12] fortunate in that I got a lot of media
[2:15] coverage we were growing like 40%
[2:17] year-over-year and we were able to reach
[2:20] seven figures within 5 years so we have
[2:23] been a a seven figure business for over
[2:27] a decade so how many employees do you
[2:29] have right now we have about 120 people
[2:31] on the team and how much does your
[2:32] service cost our average client is
[2:34] spending about 1,900 and they're meeting
[2:37] someone within 3 months isn't it super
[2:40] awkward to explain that the person that
[2:42] was chatting with them that was flirting
[2:44] with them was not them most of our
[2:46] clients aren't actually explaining that
[2:47] to anyone you know they're not telling
[2:50] the other person that they they use a
[2:52] service generally speaking like when you
[2:54] feel like a really awesome chemistry
[2:56] connection with someone they just they
[2:58] don't really care to my surprise Scott
[3:01] might be right V select's website is
[3:03] littered with positive reviews and
[3:05] success stories all from those who
[3:07] claimed the service helped them to meet
[3:08] their perfect match all of a sudden
[3:11] there was a steady flow of interested
[3:14] Partners this is the perfect woman for
[3:16] me oh I love you I love you H I was a
[3:21] bit skeptical of all the Bold claims so
[3:23] I ask Scott to show me how it works in
[3:25] real time so this is a 28-year-old
[3:28] client who we were setting messages for
[3:31] you can kind of see the progression from
[3:34] the opening message to the date in in
[3:36] the next screenshot this line here I
[3:38] guess there's only one way to find out
[3:40] is kind of cheese yeah it's a it's but
[3:42] you know what like what works online
[3:45] actually a lot of times it does feel a
[3:46] little bit cheesy I have to admit Scott
[3:49] had me impressed but I was concerned to
[3:51] hear what he mentioned next so can you
[3:53] kind of walk me through the process of
[3:55] how you get
[3:57] customers like 98% of our traffic is is
[4:00] organic search right so we get you know
[4:02] clients referring other clients and that
[4:05] drives business but those are like very
[4:07] high conversion and it's not a lot of
[4:08] traffic so if you lost all of your
[4:11] Google traffic tomorrow what would
[4:12] happen to your business it would
[4:15] fail Scott has taken a massive gamble
[4:18] relying solely on Google vs his business
[4:20] especially with core updates that have
[4:21] been crushing small businesses luckily
[4:24] for Scott his business is Alive and
[4:26] Kicking so I wanted to take a closer
[4:28] look at how he's been able to dominate
[4:30] search results on Google somebody
[4:32] searches for something in Google they
[4:34] land on your site what kind of pages are
[4:36] they landing on so we have two main
[4:38] buckets of search content that uh we
[4:41] focus on one of them is online dating so
[4:43] it could be you know Tinder pickup lines
[4:46] or Bumble bio examples and then on
[4:51] another side we have matchmaking
[4:52] keywords so best matchmakers in New York
[4:55] so the matchmaking bucket converts about
[4:59] 40 times higher than the online dating
[5:02] traffic an average Matchmaker in New
[5:04] York is probably charging $5 $20,000 so
[5:08] they're already really primed for a
[5:10] high-end service I when we compare like
[5:13] the extreme other side of Tinder pickup
[5:15] lines it converts hundreds of times
[5:17] better I mean hundreds keywords like
[5:20] this people often look at it and they
[5:22] say oh like this is not this is
[5:23] invaluable for anyone like how am I
[5:25] going to make money off of Tinder pickup
[5:27] lines like it's just kind of like a meme
[5:28] site or you know you might see that on
[5:31] on sites that aren't generating Revenue
[5:33] through there but they're just looking
[5:34] for traffic for ad Revenue yeah I find
[5:36] that fascinating because you've taken
[5:38] keywords that seem like junk uh to many
[5:41] people in the industry but you've built
[5:43] your business around that I I think
[5:45] that's an amazing thing all our visitors
[5:47] are valuable some more than others um
[5:50] but really kind of dialing in you know
[5:52] that that value equation has helped us
[5:55] to to monetize our traffic pretty well
[5:57] what are your profit margins like so we
[6:00] have like years where we'll do 30%
[6:03] profit and we have years where we do 10%
[6:05] profit it's a high volume relatively low
[6:08] margin business now that I've seen the
[6:11] inner workings of Scott's business I
[6:12] wanted to share with him some tactics to
[6:14] help him find more customers from the
[6:16] legs of Tinder and Bumble and one of the
[6:18] discoveries we came across not related
[6:20] to Google is a gold mine that neither
[6:22] Scott or his competitors have dug into
[6:25] so yeah like what I noticed right away
[6:26] when I looked at your traffic was I saw
[6:29] a traffic Trend that was kind of like
[6:31] almost like stagnating like it never
[6:32] really grew and it never really shrunk
[6:35] yeah the thing with growing search
[6:37] traffic is that you have to think about
[6:39] two things first you have to actually
[6:41] protect your current traffic the second
[6:43] thing you have to do is you have to look
[6:44] for New Opportunities if you can do both
[6:46] of those then that's how you get the
[6:48] upward rise yeah so this is the top
[6:50] pages report and it's just kind of
[6:51] showing you U the pages that are driving
[6:54] the most search traffic to your site
[6:55] delete Plenty of Fish which I can't
[6:58] imagine does convert well yeah it
[7:00] doesn't convert very well but then you
[7:02] have hinge versus Bumble and how how
[7:04] does this page convert for you converts
[7:05] well yeah so these verses these verses
[7:08] type Pages which you know have some form
[7:10] of commercial value you have Tinder Plus
[7:13] versus Tinder keywords like reviews
[7:16] versus basically things that show some
[7:18] form of commercial intent are working
[7:20] well for you and there's still there
[7:22] there's like a decent amount of volume
[7:23] around those keywords all right so let's
[7:25] look at some potentially new keyword
[7:28] opportunities so we want to find
[7:30] keywords that are going to contain
[7:32] modifiers and modifiers are just like an
[7:34] add-on to a base keyword so we have our
[7:36] base keywords and then modifiers might
[7:39] be like verses or reviews so we can
[7:42] click include any word and so we'll do
[7:45] review uh
[7:47] example versus and let's see what kind
[7:50] of keywords we come up with so hinge
[7:52] versus Bumble you're already ranking for
[7:53] that there's a whole bunch of keywords
[7:55] in here you know that they convert well
[7:57] so let's copy the first 50 and paste
[7:59] that in here and if I go to the traffic
[8:02] share by domain then we can actually see
[8:04] which websites get the majority of the
[8:06] traffic from here and did you know that
[8:08] Reddit gets roughly 32% of the traffic
[8:10] for those keywords Reddit crushes it V
[8:13] to select so you are in the mix here but
[8:16] you only own around 3% of the traffic
[8:18] Shar and you definitely want to get to a
[8:21] place where you're owning more of it
[8:23] yeah so basically looking through these
[8:25] keywords when we group it by parent
[8:26] topic now we have a huge list of topics
[8:30] that you might actually want to go after
[8:31] is there anything in here that you don't
[8:34] think that you've covered yet I mean is
[8:37] hinge X worth it I don't believe we've
[8:39] done that um that looks new all right so
[8:42] we look and see what the top ranking
[8:43] pages are Hing X versus plus plus right
[8:47] yes so it looks like it's a paid thing
[8:49] so there's one potential opportunity for
[8:51] you so you'd basically have to look at
[8:53] you know what topics have you covered
[8:55] and you would bucket them into these are
[8:58] new opportunities we should definitely
[8:59] go and create content around this
[9:01] because our potential customers are
[9:02] searching for that as for the protecting
[9:05] your current traffic one of the big ones
[9:07] for you I believe was hinge versus
[9:10] Bumble and so you rank fourth for the
[9:14] main keyword to protect your traffic if
[9:16] you have the links usually it's just a
[9:18] matter of updating the traffic to better
[9:20] match the intent of the Searcher so if
[9:23] we look at your page the question now is
[9:25] like what does the user actually want to
[9:28] see well the fact that Reddit is ranking
[9:30] number one tells me that people want to
[9:32] see real discussion from real people and
[9:34] so I think it makes a lot of sense for
[9:35] you to learn how to do reddit reddit is
[9:38] a marketing channel or should be a
[9:39] marketing channel I think for you
[9:41] considering over 30% of that traffic
[9:43] goes to Reddit right% and so if you
[9:46] wanted to go and you wanted to do some
[9:47] like Reddit marketing yeah you can go
[9:49] and you can go to Reddit and search for
[9:51] like Bumble and then look for things
[9:54] that have uploads and stuff but the
[9:56] thing is you don't know if these are
[9:57] actually getting traffic still so you
[9:59] could waste a ton of time going and like
[10:02] hoping that you know people are going to
[10:03] see this and upload it and even if
[10:05] you're ranked at the top like will
[10:06] anyone actually see that yeah so what
[10:08] you can do is you can just go and see
[10:10] where reddit's already getting traffic
[10:11] brilliant and like we see here uh how
[10:14] does hinge work uh we can look at their
[10:17] ranking history you can see that they've
[10:19] been like in the top five forever
[10:21] basically it's unlikely that they're
[10:23] going to all of a sudden stop ranking
[10:25] for this so you can go put in your time
[10:27] in Reddit help answer this question I
[10:30] don't think you should hide behind a a
[10:31] pseudonym or anything but even just
[10:33] going in as V select and building up
[10:35] your brand in there I think will have a
[10:37] longer term impact another thing you can
[10:39] do with Reddit is we can look for
[10:41] modifiers so prompts pickup lines bies
[10:45] we can we can add in as many modifiers
[10:47] as we want right so let's go back here
[10:50] and see what kind of results we come up
[10:52] with best Tinder bies for guys that's
[10:56] wild that there's 14,000 monthly
[10:58] searches with that modifier and look
[11:01] like this is a very low Authority site
[11:04] they're ranking with one link like this
[11:06] is definitely something you guys should
[11:08] be on yeah for sure we could rank you
[11:11] know you can take these modifiers from
[11:12] Reddit you can put in like your seed
[11:14] keywords in this case these are just
[11:16] like the the dating keywords that that I
[11:18] entered the um company names and then
[11:21] you add in modifiers you find another
[11:24] modifier you just go and do the same
[11:25] thing and then you find another list of
[11:26] topics yeah and then you just keep
[11:28] soaring them creating content around
[11:30] that as you start getting up there you
[11:32] track them all in a rank tracker as
[11:34] those rankings start to drop then you go
[11:36] and you protect that traffic that way
[11:38] instead of having search traffic that
[11:40] kind of looks like this you want to have
[11:41] the net positive for sure flow of
[11:44] traffic right and so that's kind of what
[11:46] you need to do is is to have both sides
[11:48] of that to kind of get that parabolic
[11:51] growth for sure yeah it's the long term
[11:53] the long-term strategy if you want to
