I have a business that had a great product that is scaling and growing. And the thing about growing is sometimes you need to bring on more help to support you. My accountant that I was working with at the time was not up to the task. I’m here in my office wishing that I had a broker, wishing I had an answering. I was sitting there looking at over 20 different recommendations from many different people and needing to sort through all of them. I knew many of these recommendations were companies of different sizes, some to big for what I do and costing to much, some to small but may not use the right tools or systems to be able to support me. Everyone I talked to act or truely believes they could help me. Really feeling like they were the best ones. This is brutal. Because I had a ton of other things to already do. Scaling the business, supporting my team, getting back to my customers. And I don’t really know enough about accounting firms and who the right people are. So I sigh and say to myself, “this is brutal.” SO I went to walk by the canel on a this sunny day. Starting to think to myself, am I really going to be able to grow this business in the way that I want. Will I be able to achieve what I want. Is this going to be another person that I need to micromanage all the time to make sure they are doing things properly and the right things. How am I going to enjoy the rest of my life if I’m always dealing with things like this. It was one of these moments that I appreciate the work that I do. I really wanted someone who could understand my needs but also the full marketplace of offers. Understand the complexities and the many factors that go into who would make a really good fit. With my engineering background, it wasn’t just about people, but about systems and process and creating outcomes consistently. And having a deep understanding and research of the agency research to find the right fit. This one scenario was one of the examples and the many years of challenges and years of mistakes that I had built in to understand what it takes to really match the right team with the right skillsets in businesses to allow both to thrive and grow. This has been what I’ve been dedicating my life too. And gratefully on this particular adventure, I was able to find the way through with the same system I used for finding marketing agencies. They weren’t perfect in the beginning but with the right mindset, communication and work on both sides. We worked on things together and a few months in I experience more freedom in my business and work. I got to experience the semi retired lifestyle and remember taking 4-5 days off in lisbon and not having to work on accounting or book keeping. It allowed me to work on the rest of my business and enjoy the rest of my life. I know many business owners have a problems with this. I remember sitting in Lisbon in November, when in the Netherlands was super cold. Taking in the warm sunshine and breeze with my wife. Sitting on a patio eating one of the best fish meals I've ever had. Enjoying the warmed of the afternoon sun. As I took a sip of my pineapple mocktail. I realized this is exactly what I’m here for, and what I create for others and why. It’s not just about the KPI’s and systems. But it’s about connecting people at the right time to allow them to grow together. Giving founders and their employees the time to enjoy their lives. And this is why I’ve shared what I have today. --- Notes Slide 30 --- [no notes text found] --- Notes Slide 31 --- [no notes text found] --- Notes Slide 32 --- ‹#› --- Notes Slide 33 --- Come up with top 5 questions people would not normally ask an agency.
