WHY GEO/AEO/Ai SEO?
A Little Background
I didn’t give this much thought as
a potential for traffic and brand
visibility for the first couple of
years.
A Little Background
First time I noticed it was around August 2024 roughly 1 year ago when
Legiit got a MASSIVE 40 clicks from ChatGPT
A Little Background
I shrugged and thought it was neat but mostly an anecdote… but it grew a
little every month and by January it was up to 300 a month
A Little Background
That’s when I decided it was time to figure out how to do this…
ON PURPOSE.
So I am going to walk you through an example and what I do to
“rank” for a term that is valuable to me with one we are currently
working on and sometimes already showing up for so you can
replicate the steps.
I am also going to give you some free tools you can use to make it
easier.
HOW DO LLMs and GEO WORK?
How Does It Work?
I started testing various things, trying to
figure out how GEO works.
Read lots of posts, watched lots of videos,
talked to lots of people and realized that
everyone was talking about it…
…was clueless
How Does It Work?
So I decided to go right to the source…
the LLMs themselves.
…I mean literally watching it think.
So I decided to go right to the source… the LLMs themselves.
I don’t mean asking it though… I mean literally watching it think.
Watch It Think
Watching it think I learned
a few things…
Watch It Think
It literally tells you what it searches to come up
with the answers it gives.
So continuing the example
“best website to buy backlinks”
Watch It Think
Results - Broad
• “best guest post marketplaces 2025”
• “buy backlinks guest posts marketplace”
• “niche edits marketplace”
• “link building marketplace reviews”
• “buy links risks google policy”
Results - Branded
• “NO-BS Marketplace review” / “NO-BS guest post publishers list” /
site:nobsmarketplace.com pricing
• “Authority Builders review” / “Authority Builders guest posts pricing” /
“Authority Builders reddit”
• “Loganix guest posts pricing” / “Loganix backlinks review”
• “Legiit guest posts” / “Legiit link building marketplace” / site:legiit.com guest
post“
• FATJOE guest posts review” / “FATJOE links pricing”
• “The HOTH guest post review” / “The HOTH blogger outreach pricing”
Results – UGC & Misc
• site:domain.com "guest post" pricing/publishers/samples
• “{vendor} reddit” to spot real-user feedback
• Quick traffic checks (does the placement site get organic traffic?) and
anchor/text guidelines pages
Fan Out Queries
ACTION STEP
This was a huge lightbulb for me because it’s such an
obvious win… it literally tells you what it is looking for.
So build your content strategy around those terms. If you
show up for them your chances of influencing the LLM
take off.
But I was still missing a couple of pieces…
Watch It Think
• What KIND of content?
• Where should I post it?
So I went right back to the well again and looked at
it’s thinking.
Most Common Sources
• Forums (Reddit, Niche related forums etc…)
• “Parasites” (for lack of a better term) like YouTube, Medium, LinkedIn,
Instagram etc… Interestingly it doesn’t seem to like Facebook much.
• Wikipedia and other Wikidata sites
• Review sites, particularly Trustpilot (which sucks because I hate them)
• Brand sites… so your own site and others like it (in this case NOBS, Fat
Joe, Legiit etc…) this includes reviews, listicles, comparisons etc,
testimonial pages, blogs… and…
• Support articles… ZenDesk, Freshdesk, Intercom etc… <<< Don’t sleep on
that.

So Now We Know…
• What to write content about
• Where to write content
But we still need to know what kind of
content LLMs like
What Kind Of Content?
What Kind Of Content?
My research led me to find the following types of content were what LLMs like:
• Listicles (Top X Products)
• Comparison Pages (X vs. Y… and I have a trick for you on this)
• Answers to questions on forums (Reddit, Quora etc..) use the same brand phrase as often as
possible
• Consistent Brand Phrase
"Brand X Is a Y That Helps NICHE in TIMEFRAME" - repeat that EVERY WHERE... Home page,
about page etc...
• Schema (Brand/Organization)

Questions & Answers
Write the question in your content and follow it directly with the answers.
“Does Legiit use Payoneer? Yes, Legiit has Payoneer as a withdrawal method.”
Post this on:
• Your site, particularly your support articles…
• Reddit
• Twitter
• LinkedIn
• Medium
Etc…

Watch It Think Correct Brand Information
In doing this I noticed that ChatGPT had a lot of information about Legiit WRONG

Action Step –
Make Sure You:
• Publish a canonical source of truth (your
site)
• Seed third-party, high-authority citations
(What I call Brand Entities)
• Make it easy for bots to find and quote
• “LLM-friendly” structure
• Monitor and iterate
Brand Entities
Brand Entities
To me this was the most obvious one since it’s
part of my traditional SEO strategy but it is still
super important.
Feed the LLM as much information about your
brand as you possibly can by building out as many
branded entities as you possibly can.
Brand Entities
• Wikidata
• Social Media Profiles
• Social Media Content
• Review Sites like Trustpilot or Yelp
• Blog Posts
• Videos*
• Forum profiles
Etc… build these out, and keep them active.
Brand Entities
Brand Entities
Action Step – Brand Entities
Create as many brand entities with near
verbatim wording as you possibly can.
Both about the brand, and the person/people
behind it.
Experimental Factors
Experimental Factors
I have seen inconsistent, but not
disqualifying evidence that you can
influence the LLM through RLHF.
RLHF = Reinforcement Learning From
Human Feedback

Experimental Factors
I’ve been testing this at a MASSIVE scale
via automation.
Results are encouraging enough to
continue but not conclusive.
Action Step – RLHF (Optional)
Use reinforcement learning human feedback.
Data is encouraging but inconclusive… but try
automating RLHF!

Results – After Using This
Strategy For A Year?
So after researching, testing, and implementing this repeadtly what are the results?
Year to date we've gotten 10,683 visitors from ChatGPT alone and our brand visibility has
skyrocketed.
We regularly get people telling us they found us on ChatGPT so the clicks aren’t even the whole
story.
Further, they aren’t just clicking blogs they are going to commercial/transactional intent pages too.
ChatGPT has become our 3rd highest direct referral source the last 6 months. (Behind Google, and
Facebook) and is trending up consistently.

Repeat this process over and over again and I am
convinced you will see similar results…
It’s a lot of work though so I “vibe coded” several tools
that help me implement and track… and I am going to
give all of them to you for free.*
(*With one minor exception)
Tools
Brand Prompt Research
Combines Data from 7 different sources
to create a picture of what prompts make
sense for your business to rank for.
Think of it as keyword research for Ai.
Tools
Brand Research
(I admit this needs a better name)
Fetches the search terms that the LLM uses so that you
can write content for those terms.
That makes it so you don’t have to sit and watch it think
Tools
Listicle Hunter
This finds listicles, and some contact information for
them based on a keyword you enter.
This lets you either ask to have your brand inserted in
an existing listicle, or write for a site that accepts guest
post listicles.
Also works for traditional SEO link outreach.
Tools
Brand Mover
This one allows you to enter information about your business, then generate the
types of content that I talked about including:
• Website Copy
• Forum Questions & Answers (Reddit, Quora etc)
• Comparison Pages
• Guest Posts
• Listicles
• 7 others types of LLM formatted blog posts
Tools
Brand Questions
This one scrapes various questions
people are already asking about your
brand so you can go through and
answers them in the types of
content, and on the types of sites
LLMs love.
Tools
Brand Ascend (Developmental)
This one creates an LLM influence
engine using RLHF that could
theoretically influence LLMs to be
more likely to mention your brand.
Tools
Brand Signal
This allows you to enter in prompts for multiple
LLMs and see if your brand shows up for that
terms, as well as if it is a positive or negative
sentiment.
This is the only one that isn’t free… but you can
get it for $6 a month with coupon code: cmseo.

2. Make Content On The Sites Ai Likes
3. Content Structure
4. Branded Entities
5. RLHF
Do this at scale and watch your brand SOAR!
(That sounded cheesy AF)
