[0:05] find the keywords to rank for this would
[0:09] be episode number 19 of the
[0:12] oversimplified
[0:24] SEO there are three different ways to go
[0:26] about finding the keywords that you
[0:28] might want to rank for the first one
[0:31] simply brainstorm them think of all the
[0:33] different keywords that your potential
[0:36] customers might be searching for in
[0:38] Google to find your site or to find
[0:40] sites of your competition and then put
[0:43] all these keyword ideas into Google
[0:45] Keyword Planner tool and it will show
[0:47] you the amount of searches that each of
[0:50] these keywords is getting every single
[0:52] month but I won't go into too much
[0:54] details about this strategy because it
[0:56] was covered pretty much everywhere the
[1:00] second one check what keywords your
[1:02] competitors are ranking for and see if
[1:04] you have any chances to outrank them
[1:07] this is a great strategy and we have
[1:09] already recorded a video tutorial just
[1:11] about that here's a link to this video
[1:14] tutorial and I highly recommend you to
[1:16] click it and check it
[1:19] out and the third one check what
[1:22] keywords your site already ranks for and
[1:24] see if you can rank better just because
[1:26] you don't see your site on the front
[1:28] page of Google doesn't mean that it's
[1:30] not there you might be on the third page
[1:33] or the fifth page and all you need to do
[1:35] to rank better is make a few edits to
[1:38] your page so this is the strategy that I
[1:41] want to show you in today's video Let's
[1:44] see okay I'm going to show you something
[1:47] I actually did for hre's blog uh last
[1:51] week so I needed to brainstorm a few
[1:55] great keywords to rank for and of course
[1:58] I started with check taking the keywords
[2:01] that hre's blog is already ranking for
[2:04] so as you can see I have position
[2:06] Explorer tool opened here and I put
[2:09] blog. hrs.com here and click
[2:14] search then what I do is click on the
[2:18] organic keywords
[2:20] report and since I want to search for
[2:24] keywords that have solid monthly traffic
[2:28] I go to the volume filter and pick the
[2:31] keywords that get somewhere from 1,000
[2:35] Searchers per month and to 10,000
[2:38] searches per month so let's click it and
[2:41] see what it gives
[2:43] me and immediately I can see quite a few
[2:47] great keyword opportunities that we
[2:50] could push to the front page for example
[2:52] here's a great one the keyword is link
[2:55] building and I can see that we rank
[2:58] number 29
[3:00] which is the third page almost fourth
[3:03] actually and here's the actual article
[3:06] that is ranking for this keyword and I
[3:08] can see that it's not properly optimized
[3:11] for the keyword link building let's
[3:13] click it and see some more
[3:16] details so here are a few things that we
[3:18] could do to better optimize this article
[3:21] for the keyword link building first of
[3:24] all the URL could be something like uh
[3:27] hs.com blog
[3:30] slash link
[3:31] [Music]
[3:33] building because Google still loves the
[3:36] exact match URLs then what we could do
[3:39] is start the headline of this article
[3:43] from the keyword link building because
[3:45] again Google loves it when the exact
[3:47] match keyword is at the front of the
[3:50] title so it could be something like link
[3:53] building 90o experts give their best
[3:56] advice or something like this and then
[4:00] I'm not sure if we have the keyword link
[4:04] building in the
[4:06] first 100 yeah we already have the this
[4:09] keyword in the first 100 words of this
[4:13] article so we're good here I think just
[4:16] these few changes plus a little bit of
[4:19] extra promotion and I'm sure we could
[4:22] move this page up from position number
[4:25] 29 where we currently rank to position
[4:28] maybe 18 or 15 this is of course not the
[4:32] first page of Google but that's because
[4:34] link building is a pretty challenging
[4:37] and competitive keyword to rank for but
[4:40] this is just a single one of many
[4:42] opportunities that you can find with
[4:45] this research for example here's another
[4:47] keyword Twitter usernames as you can see
[4:50] we're rank 44 and I already see that the
[4:54] article again is not optimized for this
[4:57] keyword and here's another one
[5:00] disavow tool we rank at position number
[5:03] 62 and I don't even see the keyword
[5:06] disavow tool in the URL of this article
[5:10] okay enough looking at opportunities for
[5:13] hre's blog and I invite you to go to
[5:16] positions
[5:17] Explorer Put the URL of your own site
[5:20] here and see what kind of opportunities
[5:23] you have for your own website
[5:36] so this was one of my favorite
[5:38] strategies of finding great keywords to
