[0:26] Now, email outreach is a vital part of growing
your search traffic. And in order to be able
[0:31] to reach out to people, you need to find a
way to contact them.
[0:35] So let's not make this tutorial any longer than
it has to be and get into the only email hunting
[0:40] tactics you'll need to make your next
outreach campaign a hit.
[0:44] Let's get started.
[0:45] The first tool is called Hunter.
[0:46] You can sign up for a free account at hunter.io.
[0:49] There are a couple ways you can find email
addresses using this tool.
[0:52] First is with their Chrome extension.
[0:54] Just go to the company domain of the person
you want to contact, and if the icon is lit
[0:58] up orange, then it means Hunter has some emails
on file.
[1:02] Click on the icon, and you'll see a list of
emails that Hunter has scraped for this domain.
[1:06] Now, with email outreach, it's best that you
contact a specific person so that a.)
[1:11] you can address them by name, and b.)
[1:13] someone like Bill Gates isn't going to tweet
your article from the Microsoft Twitter account.
[1:17] So, for single author sites, the extension
should do just fine.
[1:20] But for larger companies, you may want to
contact a specific person like the content
[1:25] marketing manager.
[1:26] So you can go to Hunter's website and go to
the "Finder" tool in the menu bar.
[1:30] Next, enter in the first and last name of
the contact, and their company domain.
[1:35] And you'll be able to find their email almost
instantly.
[1:38] Hunter is extremely fast and great if you
outsource your email finding tasks.
[1:42] But a lot of their results are based on "best
guesses" from patterns they get from scraped
[1:46] data, which can produce mixed results to say the least.
[1:49] The next tool is Clearbit. And this is another email finding tool that works as a Chrome
[1:53] extension and lives inside your Gmail inbox.
[1:56] And like Hunter, you'll get 100 free credits
per month.
[1:59] After you're all set up, click on Clearbit
up here, then find emails.
[2:04] Next, enter in the company domain
[2:06] and then the name of the person you want to
contact.
[2:09] And right away, you'll see the email address
as well as a blue checkmark, which means that
[2:13] the email is verified.
[2:15] The good thing about Clearbit is that the
emails they find are almost always bang on.
[2:19] The bad thing?
[2:20] By using their service, you're allowing them
to view your contacts.
[2:23] Now while the first two tools are great for
finding "@company.com" email addresses, some
[2:28] people still use "freemail" accounts like
Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or dare I say it... AOL.
[2:34] So the next way is to find non-domain.com
email addresses.
[2:38] And there are a few ways that you can do this.
[2:40] First is to check the website's About or Contact page.
[2:43] Oftentimes, small websites will leave their
contact details there, as you can see in this example.
[2:48] Another way to find non-domain emails is to
search their entire domain using a search
[2:53] operator like this:
site:domain.com and then "gmail.com" as a
[2:57] phrase match.
[2:58] And you'll see the email address for
this website in the meta description, which
[3:01] is just an excerpt from their post.
[3:03] Finally, is to search through people's Twitter
feeds.
[3:06] So rather than filtering through potentially
thousands of tweets, you can just google
[3:10] site:twitter.com/theirusername/status
[3:13] and then some footprints like gmail.com or
yahoo.com or hotmail.com or anything else
[3:19] that's relevant.
[3:20] And you can see that this person has tweeted
their email address at some point.
[3:23] The final way you can do this is using Email
Permutator paired with LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
[3:28] These tools work perfectly together.
[3:30] First, start with Email Permutator and enter
in the first name, last name, and domain of
[3:35] the person you want to contact.
[3:37] The good thing about this tool is that you
can click the "More Domains" button and add
[3:41] in another website like the person's personal
blog.
[3:44] The tool will then bring up all possible combinations
of the person's email address based on your input.
[3:50] Next, make sure that the LinkedIn Sales Navigator
extension is installed on Chrome and start
[3:55] a new message.
[3:56] Now, paste in all of the different email addresses
and hover over each one.
[4:00] If you see a profile in the Navigator sidebar,
then you've found the email address that the
[4:04] person is using on LinkedIn.
[4:06] From our own experiences, around 70% of email
addresses use one of these patterns.
[4:11] Alright great.
[4:12] So after using these different tactics, you
should've been able to find someone's email address.
[4:16] Now the final step of the puzzle is to make sure
that the email address you found is actually valid.
[4:21] There are a ton of email verification tools.
[4:24] My favorite is called NeverBounce.
[4:25] Now after you've created an account, click on
"Validate Single Email" and enter in the
[4:30] email address you want to verify.
[4:32] You should see right away whether the email
is valid, invalid, or a catchall domain.
[4:37] This tool is an awesome extra layer you can
add if you want to scale your email outreach.
[4:41] Just click on Apps and you'll have the option
to build your own custom integration, or connect
[4:46] it with Zapier so you can integrate it with
Google Sheets or thousands of other tools
[4:51] that you might use in your marketing stack.
[4:53] There are a lot of other email finding tools
out there like Voila Norbert, Find That Email,
[4:58] Any Find Email, and the list goes on.
[5:00] Now rather than trying every tool out there,
give a few of them a shot, see which ones
[5:04] are producing the best results for you, and
spend that extra time focusing on sending
[5:09] a good outreach email.
