My name is [your name].
I work as [role]. Day to day I mainly [2–3 real tasks].
My current top goals are [1–3 specific goals].
I use ChatGPT mostly for [writing / research / coding / planning / learning].
My knowledge level: strong in [areas], still learning [areas], complete beginner in [areas].
Preferred answer style: [short and direct / detailed with examples / step-by-step / no fluff].
Things I never want: [no corporate tone, no "Great question", no repeating my words, no long disclaimers].
Topics that matter to me: [your industry, interests, niche].
Based on everything I just told you about myself, write a set of permanent custom instructions for me.
They must:
– describe who I am and what I do
– lock in my preferred tone, length and format
– list things you must never do with me
– set the default behaviour for every reply
Write them in second person as direct rules. Be concrete. No generic advice. Keep under 350 words.
Before you start, ask me the 5 most important questions you need answered so the result is actually useful for me. Wait for my answers, then begin.
I need a proposal for a new client. Before writing a single word, ask me everything you need to know so the proposal feels written by someone who already understands their situation.
Here are examples of how I actually write:
[sample 1]
[sample 2]
[sample 3]
Analyse sentence rhythm, word choice, how I open and close, what I avoid, formality level, and any patterns that make it mine. From now on match this style exactly. Never fall back to your default voice.
Here is my plan: [describe it].
Your only job is to destroy it. List every hidden assumption that could be false. List every realistic way this fails. Argue the opposite side as hard as possible. No soft language.
After that, steel-man my original position.
Then tell me what you really think.
Think carefully before answering. Show the steps, mark where you are uncertain, then give the final conclusion.
I need help with [real task].
Write the strongest possible prompt for this. Include role, context, format, constraints. Then run that prompt immediately.
Answer in maximum 4 sentences.
Give me exactly 6 bullet points, nothing else.
Keep the whole reply under 120 words.
Never open with preamble, praise, or a restatement of my request.
Start with the actual answer.
No closing summary unless I ask for one.
No unnecessary disclaimers.
Prompts
Explain [topic] using only everyday analogies and zero jargon. After each analogy ask me one short question to check understanding. Adjust based on my answer. Continue until I can explain it back without any technical words.
I'm going to [place] for [days]. Daily budget around [amount].
My real travel style: [slow mornings / local spots / food-focused / avoid crowds / etc.].
Things I hate: [list].
Build a realistic day-by-day plan with stays, activities, food and booking notes.
Here is my expense list from the last 30 days: [paste].
My money goals right now: [goals].
Tell me:
1. Biggest spending categories
2. What looks out of line with my goals
3. What I can cut without real pain
4. What I am probably under-spending on
5. The single change with the biggest impact
I want to talk through something. Do not give advice yet.
First ask questions until you understand the full picture — facts, feelings, what I already tried, what I want.
Then reflect what you hear, including the parts underneath.
Only after that give your honest view, including things I may not want to hear.
Here is the situation: [describe]
Here is a business idea: [full description].
Find everything wrong with it:
1. Assumptions that could be false
2. Existing competitors and why they win
3. Why the customer might not pay
4. What would have to be true for this to work
5. The single biggest flaw
Be specific. After that, describe what the idea would need to become in order to actually work.
