故事

总有人编故事说，谁谁谁感觉工资虽高却找不到人生的意义，于是毅然辞职寻找生命中热爱的东西，然后在别人百般不可思议的无聊小事中实现幸福。


Jia Jiang也拿这个段子说事。Massoud Adibpour名校毕业就职投行咨询公司，但他觉得糟透了，公司没有活力，他只是充个数量。于是他辞职去追寻他的音乐梦想，但还是觉得帮人没帮到家，就整天站大街上举各种各样的牌子，写的东西都是你要开心呀，笑一笑十年少，今天天气这么好笑笑没烦恼等等。


我觉得

1.这个故事不是发生在我国，也不是这两三年的事情，看了下copyright是2015年。果真。

2.这事做不长久，工资高有积蓄，可以志愿做几个月，否则等没钱吃饭了必然谋求一份差事。对我就这么现实，养活自己是最低的自立。

单词

In the sweltering heat or bitter cold, in clouds of exhaust and oceans of noise, through bullets of mockery and arrows of judgment, panhandling seemed like the worst job in the world.

在这段话中，加粗的介词短语特别好，sweltering/bitter, clouds/oceans, bullets/arrows，这些词对仗工整，读来富有诗意，虽说是描写乞丐的，也有点可怜而自嘲的意味。

After delivering a joke that clearly bombed horribly, he’d said, “I think that’s all I really have,” and walked off the stage, humiliated.

这里joke bombed，是非正式用语，表示 fail badly, 说的笑话完全不起作用。

preempt:vt,  act in advance in order to prevent——抢先以阻止

petition: v/n, make a humble appeal to——请求

Losing his eyesight was a tragedy. But instead of being defined by tragedy like so many others, Scotty decided to define himself through his reaction.

这二日在家不喜欢杂事，于是心情不好效率也低，许多事没完成，也明知是徒劳。遂给自己熬点cheaken soup补点精神，该努力时还是不能逃避。

Accept the fact. Try what you can. Ignore the rest.

世间存活二词，需要多种因素，家境运气天赋都是不可预期，唯有努力和勤劳是你唯一能掌控的，所以就多在这上面加点砝码，否则任何资格都谈不起。

We might not have freedom to control oursituations, but we have freedom to find meaning in every experience, even whenit’s rejection, whether it’s empathy, value, or a new mission in life.
