第二章讲了Jia Jiang在遭受被拒投资后的心理变化和他开始尝试Rejection Therapy的几个小故事，这些influence, change, transform了他，比学校里课程有意义得多。

全书其实没多少难词和复杂句，我更注意到的是很多搭配，放在中文里面就叫文采，他的英语写作水平一定很高，事情很简单，我也经历过，但是不甚博学，没有旁征博引，也无幽默风趣。

名列畅销书的作者，生活中也都是很有个性的人吧。

这次我发现有好多生动的表达，非阅读中总结而不可得，是学校里的英语课程里学不到的，不是应对腐朽和呆板作文。

想起疯狂的奶爸写的一篇文章，其中的一个截图是，那些获得英文演讲冠军的人，无不是靠大量的阅读和练习来巩固基础的，他们的表达一般人就像不出来，演讲说得那般信手拈来和遣词造句用的得心应手，其功力只得在平常积累。

我这次只抽取了单个的表达，把他们按照形式分一下类，生词不多，只说说为什么我们就想不到这样说。

名词类

看他是如何修饰名词的

1)

wave of shame

波浪般的羞耻，翻译过来当然不太好理解，这也是两种语言的隔阂之处

2)

the box of donuts sitting on the passenger seat

box 是 siting修饰的，当然是拟人化了，也说明作者心情很好啦，趣味一番

3)

human kindness that Jackie had demonstrated

某个人证实了人性的光辉，翻译过来还是像蠢话，这里英文的魅力胜过中文，而中文的魅力在于不可言传

4)

with more poise

poise这个词，还可以做动词，1.（使）平衡，2.（be poised）准备做某事

5)

with the look of an Olympic athlete determined to win gold

这句话就翻译成中文也表明很有决心啦，而且表明这很隆重，毕竟是奥运国家队...

6)

tight time frame

这个词呢，表明时间很紧，但你不能直白翻译吧，这就是地道英文

7)

outlandish rejection idea

outlandish是奇特的，和weird类似

动宾类

看他用什么样的动词

1)

increase my chance

书开头有个词，maximize 最大化可能性

2)

piquing the other person’s interest

pique your interest/curiosity，可以换成arouse, evoke, trigger, excite

rub摩擦之意，可以说画面感直来呀

cocked a slight smile

cock 使倾斜，和下边的歪头是一样的，歪笑，就是轻轻嘴角上扬咯

summon up (a particular feeling or attitude)，鼓足勇气

give a sudden smile, 突然洋溢着灿烂的笑容

deliver happiness/talks，本身是传递的意思，引申为讲、说，看这样的动词有延伸义，我们一般很难想到吧

和第七个一样，表达的意思就是，我在头脑里快速闪现下我希望发生的事情

赢得一个拒绝，作者的想法本身就很奇特，然后构成这样奇特的表达...

这一连串的动作，即使是中文也表现得很爽朗，画面感扑面而来

whip, take out fast, 和hit approach都是表现很果断，而不是简单的没有动作特色的拿啊，打开啊，进去啊等没有感情的动词

提出问题，pose = raise

hit又一次出现了，注意下一动词是aim, point or direct at target

这个表达在这一章出现了两次，脖颈后汗毛直立， spring up 跳上来的意思

相当于full of

用box来比喻每天的普通，然后是step outside，注意otherwise是否定意思

4)

fill an absurd specialty order in

fill.....in 填充进去，每次电视剧插播广告时，是不是都特想立马看下一集，这也是要fill me in

stride是大步跨，比直接walk 神气得多

6)

dumbfounded by her equally ridiculous yes.

dumb-found合成词，那么就有一系列衍生词dumb-.....

disappear，dis-是否定前缀

think后面的两个副词，都是形容怎么思考的,out, loud

记笔记，草草记下，write very quickly

这里是抽象地“推”

这样的中文意思，让我翻译只会写成panic was weakened，所以说看到这样的表达很惊喜，wow的一声，必须地，记住

其实看了这么多，就是看你地道的英语是怎么用动词的，好的文章活灵活现，不是桀骜难懂，比课本和作文有意思多了。读得多了，慢慢积累，自己也就会用了。
