2. Q&A (导读问题与答案)
【1】
Why “we are wrong about everything”?
Because as our life improves, we find the values and opinions we held before are wrong over and over and over again.
【2】
What caused “false memory syndrome”?
On the occasions of life situations where past and present don't cohere, what we're experiencing in the moment flies in the face of everything we've accepted as true and reasonable about our past.
【3】
Tell us a story where you had adamantly thought you were right, but later you found you were wrong.
I have thought that reading books is always the best approach to find solutions and enlarge visions, provided you are poor. But now I find some people have read a lot and still are poor both in wealth and mind. Even someone says they never read books and just think and think with the presented information. Now I believe that it is ok to read but not necessary and you have to combine what you read with the reality and find the correlation and judge anything by yourself.
【4】
How to be a little less certain of yourself? Please include a personal example.
Ask yourself the following questions as a mental habit:
#1: What if I'm wrong?
#2: What would it mean if I were wrong?
#3: Would being wrong create a better or a worse problem than my current problem, for both myself and others?
My tips:
Accept that you are wrong and seek more information and opinions and behaviors to judge what is what and which is better. If wrong, admit it immediately and do the right. Do not regret about the past. Cherish the future.
3. Some thoughts while reading
(阅读过程中的思考)
Love is a verb. It needs hard work and learning process. Happiness is a choice. It is a kind of personal feeling and temporary state. Love can fade and can also find. Happiness is not critical for life.
We always fancy the future. Reality is not our imagination. something bad happens. Something good also happens.
I find myself, a few years ago, is totally a fool. It proves I am growing. And I know that a few years late I will change my mind and think the present myself is totally stupid.
Everyone is unique for his or her experiences. And that is why we are different from others: we hold different concepts. The values determine us.
Rejections and failures are merely beliefs, wrong beliefs. They are sure to make us sad. But we grow from these. Certainty is death. Uncertainty is possibility. Chances are we may grow. It is a smart to be not sure.
One person being right could be persistent. One being wrong also could be persistent. So we should adjust our steps accordingly.
