当然有些动词需要变换形式：

a-（形容词：alternative\beneficial)
所谓动词变形就是把它变成动名词（就是名词），形容词（-ed,-ing,-en|过去式，动名词，过去分词）。
这些用法一般是统一的：都放在所修饰的名词之后。
（上述有些词组是用作谓语形式的，所以是动词原形，如果作为后置定语，修饰前面的中心词，则需要根据句意做出相应变形。）
一般来说：
主语——Having a small amount of red wine* has been shown to increase the health benefits.
介词之后——The benefits of adopting the whole dietary pattern
定语——It can also be useful for people wishing to lose weight.
状语——I often read a book when traveling by train.
用动词ing形式
虚拟语气
转述建议，用that从句，又称为虚拟语气。
从句常含情态动词，通常是should.
如果不用情态动词，句子语气显得更加正式。
The WHO recommend (that) we (should) eat five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.
It was his doctor who advised that he (should) change his job.
I suggested that he (should) bring them all up to the house.
注：在某些情况下，省略从句主语时，可将谓语变换为-ing形式。
Barbara suggested going to another coffee-house.
Deirdre proposed moving to New York.
I recommend writing your feelings down on paper.
I'd advise waiting until tomorrow.
